SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The first few weeks have been spent getting to know the neighborhoods and the people of the city that David Cameron was selected to run.

Cameron, Springfield’s City Manager, took over the job on July 7. Since then, he has spent a majority of the time meeting with community members and leaders to learn more about the city’s needs.

It takes some time to get your feet wet, and not everyone hears about the recommendation for a new convention center on their second day.

For Cameron, the last six weeks have seemed like a nonstop experience of learning about the city and community. He says he is impressed with his team.

“There are a lot of different layers to what we do,” said Cameron.

Cameron hasn’t stopped since taking over as city manager.
