If you plan to replant downed trees, you may want to consider replanting ones with local wildlife in mind.

If you live in a more urban area, especially closer to power lines, you’ll want to consider smaller trees.

“Red buds are native here, mainly the eastern redbud, so they’re always a good choice. They’re under 20 feet. They are suitable for near power lines. The Crabapples are in that region too, and the crabapples produce small fruits, and birds like them later on in the year,” said Kay Frazier, General Manager at Carson’s Nurseries.
