AROUND THE OZARKS, Mo. (KY3) -We’re just a few weeks away from the start of several hunting seasons in Missouri.

The window opens for archery deer season on Sept. 15.

Dove season starts Sept. 1.

Before those begin, the Department of Conservation is reminding you that you need to take a hunter safety course before you can participate.

“The biggest problem we run into every year with our education program - we offer them in August, September, and October. But a lot of folks want to wait until closer to deer season to take it.
