CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – Police officers have a tough job, which includes dealing with people who are suicidal. That's what a group of officers was facing in July. Clovis Police were looking for a man who ran from a car crash.

They were called to a neighborhood with reports that shots were fired from a grey car. A cruiser finds a car matching the description, and it takes off only to crash through a fence, hitting a parked truck, and the vehicle ends up crashing into a building.

Two men ran from the car. One, later identified as Jonathan Hay, was captured immediately. But the other took off through a nearby alley. That's where an officer found him, hiding in a shed.

Officer: Why'd you take off running? Man: What am I supposed to do? Go to jail? Officer: For what? Man: I won't let y'all kil
