NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after North Charleston, South Carolina, police said she was found with a “large quantity” of drugs and firearms during a proactive patrol.

Two officers with the North Charleston Police Department were patrolling an EconoLodge because of increased drug activity in the area.

While there, the officers saw a vehicle idling in the parking lot and made contact with the occupant, who was identified as 25-year-old Anisah Brown.

“Upon approaching the vehicle, officers immediately detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. Based on probable cause, they conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a backpack containing a significant quantity of narcotics and other illegal items,” the agency wrote in its Crime
