BROOKFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) -- The Brookfield Warriors will take on the Hubbard Eagles in the team's season opener rivalry game Friday night, but that's not the only thing that will set this game apart.

The Warriors are taking to the field in style on a whole new turf, as the $1.1 million project to replace the drainage system and old grass field is complete.

Seven years ago, Brookfield Superintendent Toby Gibson looked at the stadium and envisioned something more.

"When I first took the job, we had a little set of bleachers up here to play soccer. So, sitting up here and seeing what we had and traveling and seeing what other people had, it kind of lit a fire to provide the best for our students," Gibson said.
