Tulsa City Council members and officials with the Muscogee Nation talked about policing, housing and health care matters during a special meeting Friday at the Council Oak Comprehensive Healthcare Center.

The two groups shared lunch at the Tulsa facility before launching into a discussion of issues both face.

Muscogee Nation National Council Speaker Randall Hicks said he welcomes these types of gatherings.

“It’s always good to sit down with different city councilors within the reservation just to collaborate with them and see what each party is doing and see if we can work together and make it better for everybody,” Hicks said afterward.
