BELLEVUE, Wis. (WBAY) - Hundreds of trees are being planted across more than a dozen Brown County communities, thanks to a partnership between the Packers and Green Bay Packaging.

It’s the 15th year of the First Downs for Trees Program, where one tree is donated for every first down the Packers get during the regular season. Packers officials say it’s something that has a very visible effect on the community.

“It’s so easy for so many members of the community to realize this benefit through the years. Having these trees planted in parks and other public areas, at schools and throughout the community...it’s a nice way to make an impact,” said Aaron Popkey, Director of Public Affairs with the Green Bay Packers.

Since the program’s inception in 2011, more than 7,500 trees have been planted
