JONES COUNTY, Ga. — It's only Week 2 of the 2025 high school football season but there's a lot at stake for many teams and players.
Over at Jones County, Junior Holloway is playing in his final season, and is looking to make some noise under lights all while honoring his father.
"Just make me know he's always with me on the field, no matter what," Holloway said.
In 2020, Junior lost his father, Deterrence Holloway, after spending months in the hospital with an illness. Junior was just 12 years old at the time.
"When I found out he was sick I kind of felt like, 'Oh everything will be okay like he's a strong man.' He was the strongest man I knew at that time so he was always going to pull through," Junior said.
