GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Board members for Grand Junction Regional Airport recently moved forward with plans for a new building, which will serve the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S Forest Service.

A final design hasn't been settled on, as officals tell WesternSlopeNow the project is still in its early stages.

The Rocky Mountain Area Fire Executive Committee is exploring efficiencies within its dispatch centers to address a 38% vacancy rate, and improve work-life balance.

The consolidation will reduce Colorado's six dispatch centers to three including the Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, and Colorado's Department of Public Prevention and Fire.
