EUGENE, Ore. - A significant initiative is underway to make healthcare more accessible to the LGBTQ+ community in Eugene.
Organizers are preparing to unite medical providers, community groups, and advocates at the Midtown Willamette Building at 1590 Willamette Street. The Lavender Network is set to expand with the help of a $2.5 million donation from Helen Shepard, a longtime advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in Eugene. This generous contribution to HIV Alliance enabled the purchase of the Midtown Willamette Building, providing the organization with space to grow essential programs. The group currently offers free HIV, Hepatitis C, and syphilis testing along with clothing support.
The new building will house a medical clinic, mental health providers, and additional space for community
