SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A robbery Thursday morning at the Wells Fargo Bank on Centennial Boulevard prompted a swift response from Springfield police officers, according to the Springfield Police Department.
Springfield police officials said that a man entered the bank shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 21 and demanded money, claiming he had a weapon. Though no weapon was seen, employees complied and handed over cash. The suspect, described as a thin white male in his sixties wearing a white hat and green shirt, was quickly located by officers.
Andrew Boaden McKissack, a 60-year-old man from South Carolina, was identified and arrested near the scene and taken to the Lane County Jail. Jail records show that McKissack is in custody as of Aug. 22.
