Worcester, MA – A wanted man was shot by a Deputy U.S. Marshal Thursday morning in Worcester after allegedly attempting to ram law enforcement with a vehicle during a fugitive apprehension operation, officials confirmed.

The incident unfolded on Strathmore Road when members of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, alongside the U.S. Marshals Service and detectives from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, attempted to arrest 23-year-old Chris Betances of Worcester on an active Superior Court warrant.
