DULUTH, Minn. — With classes beginning in September, Duluth Public Schools has been working hard to prepare their newest group of bus drivers, as they near their introduction to both the city and its students.
“We’re excited about the start of the year. We did a training program this summer that was something new, trying to get some more drivers in the door.” said Duluth Public Schools Transportation Manager Jeremy Kasapidis.
The program in question, part of the Minnesota Department of Education’s “Grow Your Own” initiative, began July 1, and has been ongoing over the course of the summer as the new recruits get accustomed to the responsibility of being a driver.
