TAMPA, Fla. — Playing catch up from the moment Friday night’s start went sideways on Miles Mikolas, the Cardinals got a pair of home runs late that yanked them back into a game they once trailed by six runs.

The Tampa Bay Rays drilled two home runs of their own in the late innings to reclaim a sizeable lead and shove the Cardinals back into a 10-6 loss in front of a sellout crowd of 10,046 at George Steinbrenner Field. Center fielder Jake Mangum had had two doubles, three hits, and two RBIs early and then the Rays pulled away late with Junior Caminero’s 36th homer of the season.
