HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department says a 14-year-old has been charged in a shooting on Torrance Drive on Monday.

HPD said the teen has been charged with murder in the deadly shooting of Shaquon Lashay Moore.

Police said investigators determined that an altercation between the 14-year-old and the victim escalated when the teen pulled out a gun and shot Moore.

HPD said on Monday that officers responded to the 4400 block of Torrance Drive around 9:30 p.m. for a shooting in progress call. The department said officers found a man, later identified as Moore, in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

Moore died on the scene, according to police.
