CLAY COUNTY, Mo. —
Seven people were arrested in an undercover sex trafficking sting earlier this month in Clay County, according to the sheriff’s office.
The operation on Aug. 7–8 involved local deputies working with detectives from outside the state, including Arizona, to target people attempting to buy sex with minors. Advertisement
Investigators posted ads on sites known for trafficking.
Deputies said suspects believed they were arranging to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex, but were instead confronted by uniformed deputies and arrested.
