DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Infrastructure remains a big priority for the city of Duluth, and that includes our bike lanes.

The city has created a temporary protected bike lane in Lincoln Park to serve as a detour for the cross-city trail due to the Twin Ports Interchange Project. But this temporary solution has created some safety concerns among some bicyclists.

Picture this: you’re riding on an assigned bike lane on your way to work, when suddenly there’s a car blocking your path. That’s the reality Lincoln Park bicyclists are facing with this temporary bike lane.

“Because there are no bollards, people often park in the bike lane because it’s not clearly marked, and then you have to make a decision, do you go on the sidewalk or do you go onto the road?” said Hadrian DeMaioribu
