SUPERIOR, Wis. (Northern News Now) - After nearly three weeks of searching for 85-year-old Juanita Rosa, law enforcement say her body was found across the border in Superior.
According to the Superior Police, the Pine County woman’s car was spotted on the edge of the forest Friday at around 1 p.m.
Because of the terrain, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad helped to investigate in the wooded area.
Police say they also utilized drones to search for her.
Her body was discovered about 6 p.m. Friday, about a quarter mile from where her vehicle was found, down an ATV trail, with the help of K-9s.
Rosa was from Hinkley and was last seen on Aug. 4 in Askov.
Rosa’s family says she did not show any signs of dementia or memory loss and did not know anyone in Superior.
