Valley recall effort headed to special election

VALLEY, Neb. —

Valley citizens will vote on a recall effort this fall in a special election.

The recall effort against Valley Mayor Cindy Grove and Valley city council president John Batcher began back in June . Citizen, Chris Jensen, is the principal circulator of the petitions. The Douglas County Election Commission said she turned in 698 valid signatures to recall Grove and 525 valid signatures to recall Batcher which is enough to trigger the special election.

In a statement made to KETV, Jensen said, "We are very pleased with the recall results. It's up to the citizens to decide in November."
