HOBART — Aleks Tatum admitted he didn’t play to his full potential as Hobart’s starting quarterback last fall.
Even though the Brickies finished the 2024 season with a share of the Northwest Crossroads Conference title, a sectional semifinal loss lingered with him.
Determined to elevate his game heading into this season, Tatum began traveling north to train weekly at QB Era in Chicago.
The extra work showed Friday night as he led Hobart to a 20-3 victory over Chesterton in the season opener at The Brickyard.
“This is only a glimpse of what you’re going to see come farther down in the season,” Tatum said.
For him, the win felt like redemption after Chesterton’s 27-9 triumph over Hobart last August.
