FISHERS, Ind. — The Hamilton Southeastern Royals sent the Carroll Chargers back to Allen County defeated after handing them a 14-7 loss on Friday night.
It was a defensive showdown that began with a 7-7 stalemate after the first two quarters. HSE struck first in the opening quarter before Carroll quarterback Eli Neuhouser used his legs to even the score at halftime.
The final score for either team came in the third quarter when the Royals' senior quarterback Terry Walker III launched a 48-yard bomb into the hands of senior wide receiver Kendrick Pennymaker to get HSE into the red zone.
Not long afterwards, junior running back Carter Reed punched it in to the red zone to seal a season-opening victory for Hamilton Southeastern.
