Coming out of the halftime break, North Augusta head coach Richard Bush demanded more out of his team. Despite being tied, he believed that sloppy play early on was keeping Thomson in the game.
His team responded, shutting out the Bulldogs (1-1) in the second half while also executing offensively in a 33-7, season-opening win for the Yellow Jackets (1-0).
“They answered the bell defensively, we played well for most of the night,” Bush said. “But offensively, I thought we answered the bell in the second half; played really well.”
