The second week of high school football in Augusta is here. After getting the first taste of opposing competition last week against non-region foes, teams are now beginning to find out who they really are. The next test begins this evening.

Thomson heads across the Savannah River to face North Augusta. The Bulldogs are coming off a 7-0 win against Evans to start the season. Meanwhile this game will be the season-opener for the Yellow Jackets.

Last year's Class 2A runner-up Burke County is set to face off against Cross Creek, both squads opening the season with a win last week. When these two teams faced off a year ago, the Bears blew out the Razorbacks by more than six touchdowns.
