SALISBURY — A couple people in Hurley Park noticed a peculiar sight on Wednesday and decided to do something about it.

A red-tailed hawk was having trouble flying. An employee at the park was reportedly unable to corral the animal so they called Carolina Raptor Center, a n on-profit in Huntersville dedicated to raptor rehabilitation, education and conservation. While all raptors are birds, not all birds are raptors. The term specifically applies to birds of prey.
