Danville Regional Airport will receive about $900,000 in state funding to help pay for three projects.

The grant money from the Commonwealth Aviation Fund will cover 90% of the projects’ costs.

Improvements include obstruction removal from runway 31, remarking on runway 2-20 and stormwater basin erosion control mitigation.

“These projects will improve access to the field, improve development opportunities and will improve safety,” said Marc Adelman, director of transportation for the city of Danville.

Of the $900,443.72 from the state, $535,911.08 will go toward the stormwater basin project, $256,500 will be allocated to work on runway 31 and the remaining $108,032.64 will go to the runway 2-20 remarking.
