The city of Danville has earned three awards for excellence in economic development, the city announced Thursday.

The International Economic Development Council recognized Danville with three Excellence in Economic Development Awards:

Silver Award, Public Private Partnership category for Dan River Falls;

Silver Award, Regional Partnership category for the Southern Virginia Regional Housing Summit;

Gold Award, Innovative Financing category for Dan River Falls.

The awards honor innovative and impactful projects that aim to transform communities and regions across the world, according to a news release from the city.
