Reno showed it has Palo Verde's number as the Huskies went to Las Vegas to win their season opener over the same team they beat last season in the high school football opener.

Reno beat the Panthers, 25-19, on Friday night.

Also in Friday night football, McQueen beat Union Mine, 38-11, and Bishop Manogue lost at Saint Mary's, 51-38, in Stockton, Calif. Damonte Ranch won over Hug after the Hawks forfeited when they fell behind 61-0 in the third quarter.

Five Class 3A-North teams all won on Friday as Spring Creek beat Carson, 33-13; Elko beat Douglas, 21-0; Fallon shut out North Valleys, 44-0; South Tahoe beat Wooster, 41-0 and Fernley beat Bishop Union, 47-7.

Incline held off a late Sparks rally to down the Railroaders, 21-15.
