LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver in a vehicle that was reported stolen stopped to get gas while leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through the Los Angeles area on Friday night.

The chase began before 10 p.m. in the Wilshire area. Police said the dark blue Infinity 250 sedan was reported stolen.

The driver traveled at speeds up to 100 mph at times. The suspect also drove recklessly, weaving through other cars and driving on the shoulder.

Eventually, officers on the ground and the police helicopter overhead pulled off the chase. AIR7 kept following the suspect as he stopped for gas at a Shell gas station at Imperial Highway and Long Beach Boulevard in Lynwood.

The suspect looked right into AIR7's camera as he covered his face while pumping gas.
