A popular zoo just an hour away from Cambridge is celebrating a huge baby boom. Banham Zoo is celebrating the birth of exotic birds, pandas, penguins, and even insects.
The new arrivals are said to represent a 'significant milestone' in global conservation efforts and the zoo’s commitment to protecting endangered species.
As part of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) and with the support of BIAZA, Banham Zoo’s team has welcomed a host of precious births this year, including:
Red panda twins (born June 22): A vital win for this Endangered species, born to Jasper and Lu, who came to Banham Zoo from an EEP breeding recommendation. With wild populations thought to be as low as 2,500.
