STANLEY, Ky. — A critical bridge replacement project on U.S. 60 near the community of Stanley in Daviess County has been postponed just days before its scheduled start, potentially leaving drivers facing extended delays and disruptions through the end of the year.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced plans last week to begin work Monday on replacing the 75-year-old bridge over Katie Meadow Slough, southeast of Stanley. The project aimed at addressing severe deterioration in the structure’s substructure was expected to wrap up just before Christmas. However, recent developments have forced a redesign, pushing the start date back indefinitely, according to Matt Hughes, public information officer for KYTC District 2.
