MADISON (WKOW) – Five athletes from LOVB Madison are representing their countries at the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Thailand. The event, running from August 22 to September 7, 2025, showcases top volleyball talent worldwide.
Anna Haak of Sweden, Andrea Mitrovic of Canada, Xiangyu Gong of China, Anna Pogany of Germany, and Argentina Ung of Mexico are the players from LOVB Madison taking part.
Haak, as Team Sweden Captain, opened the tournament with 15 kills and five blocks, although Sweden lost to the Netherlands.
The championship features a six-day pool phase, with the top teams advancing through to the finals in Bangkok.
Matches began at 4 a.m. CT on August 22.
The athletes from LOVB Madison will continue their participation on August 23 at the same time.
