Staff returned to the Susquenita School District last week as preparations continued for the Aug. 20 first day of school for students.
At the school board’s Aug. 12 meeting, it was reported that new teacher orientation went well, with principals and district staff welcoming incoming educators and helping them prepare classrooms ahead of opening day. Superintendent Dr. Jon-David Fox praised the energy of staff and noted the district is ready “to rock and roll” for the new year. He reminded families that sports passes are on sale and introduced the district’s first director of safety and security, Jim Olinger, an Air Force veteran and retired Pennsylvania State Police officer.
