A new café is set to open its doors in East Kilbride — and it's perfect for cat lovers.

Ghada Abdelaziz, alongside her son Osama Elatabani, is hoping to open up Purrfect Cafe next month, after transforming the Montgomery Street site, which used to be a hair salon.

The cafe will be home to 15 cats, who all love to be cuddled and made a fuss of, with refreshments to be available for visitors too.

It will also host special sessions aimed at people with autism. The idea came to Ghada after being inspired by her autistic son, who is a huge cat lover.

She told Glasgow Live: "This place used to be a hairdresser so we're just waiting on the council to confirm we can open up.
