The Iowa State football team has 16 players listed as out for the season opener against Kansas State in Ireland on Saturday, Aug. 23.

One additional player is listed as a "game-time decision" according to the Big 12 Football Player Availability Report, released Saturday morning. Starting this season, all Big 12 teams are required to report the status of players three days before a game (starting Wednesday for a typical Saturday contest) and then again 90 minutes before kickoff.
