COLUMBIA — South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson is in stable condition after a two-car collision claimed the life of the other vehicle's driver on the morning of Aug. 22.

The driver of a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder was driving west on U.S. 76 near Chapin at approximately 5:45 a.m. when it crossed left of center and hit Robertson's 2024 Chevy Tahoe head-on, a South Carolina Highway Patrol spokesman said. The operator of the Pathfinder passed away at the scene.

Robertson was transported to Prisma Health with injuries.
