LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The City of Laredo has been awarded the 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

The recognition comes after the city’s Port Laredo – We Keep the World Moving campaign, conducted in 2024.

“This recognition celebrates the success of our 2024 campaign, which unified multiple City of Laredo departments under a single message,” said Miriam Castillo, Economic Development Director for the City of Laredo. “Together, we elevated Port Laredo’s visibility and continued reinforcing our leadership in international trade,” she added.

The campaign highlighted Laredo as the largest inland port in the U.S. and strengthened its visibility for trade and economic growth.
