The Jail to Work Program led by the McNabb Foundation has been changing the lives of Hamblen County women inmates since 2017, and at the Evening of Hope banquet on Thursday at The Country Club in Morristown, it was announced that a men’s program is on the way.

McNabb Center President/CEO Mona Blanton Kitts said the center had been awarded a $1.5 million opioid abatement grant from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health. “For over six years, we’ve been trying to get funding, trying to make something happen,” she said. This is a big deal.” The award is a recent development and planning is underway to see how best to launch the program.
