KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville man is facing federal child sex abuse charges after a joint investigation into suspected trafficking.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, Travis Dewayne Mitchell Jr. is accused of online enticement of a minor and is being held at the Blount County Detention Center.
According to police, on Friday Mitchell brought his 4-year-old child with him to meet an undercover officer posing as a potential child sex trafficker at a business on North Broadway.
KPD said they discovered Mitchell had also left a 10-year-old child at his home. Police arrived at the home and found the child alone without running water and no phone or means of communication.
The Tennessee Department of Children's Services responded to remove the children to temporary safe housing.
