A man believed to have burned down a McClain County sheriff's deputy's home Friday night was in custody Saturday morning, Aug. 23, after a brief standoff in Norman.

He had been "targeting law enforcement officers' homes and vehicles to burglarize," according to the McClain County Sheriff's Office.

"Overnight a suspect returned to the scene of an off-duty police officer's home that he had been caught burglarizing the night before," the sheriff's office said on Facebook.
