Houston Academy took a hard-fought 35-26 win over G.W. Long on Friday night at Rip Hewes Stadium in the opening games for both teams.

Senior Judson Bailey threw two touchdown passes to Wilson Parrish – one for 31 yards and one for 14 – in directing the Raiders to the win at Northcutt Field.

Bailey also scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 44 yards.

Ivory McGriff added a 1-yard scoring run for the Raiders and Aidan Phillips was true on each of his five extra point attempts.

G.W. Long scored off big plays – a pair of 45-yard runs by Blayne Wood, a 40-yard run by Preston Williams and a 33-yard pass from Wood to Williams.

Wood finished with 110 yards rushing and two scores off 15 carries and threw for 87 yards off 6-of-15 passing. Williams rushed for 54 yards on five carries and caught one p
