GOSHEN, NY — A Port Jervis man who violated a protective order and launched a violent kidnapping and assault on a woman last December has been sentenced to 13 years in state prison, Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced Thursday.

Francisco Ceballos-Rosario, 44, previously pled guilty to kidnapping in the second degree in connection with the December 28 incident, in which he attacked a woman inside her own home, held her at knifepoint, and forced her out into the street before brutally beating her.

According to court records, the victim awoke to Ceballos-Rosario smothering her face and attempting to initiate sexual contact. The woman had an active protection order against him at the time. After physically assaulting her and threatening her with a knife, Ceballos-Rosar
