GRAND FORKS — Head coach Jesse Tupac and the UND volleyball team are ready to compete against someone outside of the program.

It’s been an offseason of internal competition for the Fighting Hawks. UND has welcomed five transfers who've been competing against and pushing some of the experienced returners, crafting what Tupac believes is one of the more competitive offseasons under his tenure.

“There’s only six people on the court at a time, so we got a chance to see a lot of different people in different spots,” Tupac said. “What we learned from that is that our gym is as competitive as it’s ever been. At any given moment, any person in any position could be the best person in their position that day.”
