LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — Loves Park Police arrested Terry Bailey-Mangruem, 35, for allegedly possessing a stolen weapon during a traffic stop.
Officers were patrolling the area of East Riverside and Wilson Avenue when they saw a red Chevrolet Impala with a headlight not working on August 21, around 11:30 p.m.
Authorities smelled raw cannabis while speaking with the suspect, which resulted in them searching the vehicle.
Officials found a loaded handgun in a red Gucci backpack and cannabis.
Police determined that the firearm was stolen.
Bailey-Mangruem is a multi-time convicted felon, according to court records.
He is charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
