A tragic incident occurred last night outside the Gracechurch Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, where a 21-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a car. Another woman sustained a leg injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following reports of the collision involving two pedestrians. Despite efforts to save her, the young woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses, particularly those who were driving in the area at the time or who may possess dashcam or doorbell footage. Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the West Midlands Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit stated, "Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died at this time. We are continuing our enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who was driving near the scene or in the streets nearby before or after the collision happened. Any dashcam or doorbell footage you have would really help our investigation."
