ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was charged Saturday in the 2008 shooting death of a campus police officer who worked for St. Louis Community College- Florissant Valley.
Brandon M. Levy, 46, is accused of shooting Demond Taylor, 34, while Taylor was driving in north St. Louis. Levy, who was arrested Friday, faces a charge of first-degree murder.
On June 20, 2008, Taylor was on his way to pick up his two sons, Demond and Dejuan. He was shot several times around 6:30 p.m. in his white 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier as he drove along Page Boulevard at Academy Avenue, police said at the time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Before working at the community college in Ferguson, Taylor had worked in the Berkeley and Jennings police departments and as a security officer at St. Louis University.
