NEWAYGO, Mich. — The Newaygo Lions varsity cheerleaders got to take a visit to Ford Field on Saturday for what the team said was an "unforgettable" afternoon.

Newaygo High School's varsity cheer team was one of only 10 winning teams of the Detroit Lions' "Touchdown in Your Town" grant.

The team attended a special pre-game event, watched the Detroit Lions face off against the Houston Texans and got recognized on the jumbotron.

"This grant is more than just funding—it’s an investment in our athletes, our school, and our community. We’re so proud to represent Newaygo and so grateful for this opportunity. We can't wait for our community to see our new mats," the team said in a Facebook post.
