Two Passengers Killed, One Seriously Injured in High-Speed Rollover

An Arizona man, Marvin Albert Wauneka, 40, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for causing a high-speed drunk driving crash on the Navajo Nation that killed two passengers and seriously injured another.

The incident occurred on November 14, 2024, when Wauneka, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, drove at speeds of 85 to 100 miles per hour on Navajo Route 54 after drinking heavily.

Court records show Wauneka consumed alcohol before reporting to work, where he was too intoxicated to perform his duties. He continued drinking at a Wal-Mart before driving with four passengers.
