WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A convicted felon who was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop in southern Illinois was arrested after deputies say he had a gun and drugs on him.

Petre D. Washington, 49, of Marion, was arrested on four felony charges, including armed habitual criminal, unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Deputies say the driver, 51-year-old Shirley J. Hamilton, of Harrisburg, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
