TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 38-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Tresda M. Caddell, of Tuscaloosa, was killed when the 2002 GMC Yukon she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck an embankment. After the initial impact, the vehicle overturned and struck a utility pole.

Caddell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was ejected from the vehicle, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to ALEA, the driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on U.S. 11 near Cedar Cove Loop Road, about two miles east of Coaling. Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
